Thomas L. Arietti 64, died peacefully on August 21, 2016 in Auburn, ME, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. Tom was born on May 25, 1952 in Springfield, MA to Albert & June (Normand) Arietti and grew up in Enfield, CT. He graduated from Enfield High School in 1970 and served in the US Navy. Tom worked in construction and became a truck driver, taking pride in his safety record and skills as a big rig operator. He also served with the Enfield Police Department Auxiliary, attaining the rank of lieutenant. Tom was an avid baseball and football fan, cheering on both the Boston Red Sox and the New York Jets.Tom is survived by his three children, Andrea Skidgel and Liz Guite both of Stafford Springs, CT and Thomas Arietti Jr. of Enfield CT, along with two grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Deborah Arietti of Kennebunk, ME and twin brothers Ricardo Arietti of Auburn, ME and Renzo Arietti of Somers, CT. He is preceded in death by his parents.The family would like to acknowledge the staff of the Androscoggin Hospice House for their kindness and compassion in providing comfort to Tommy at such a difficult time. Courage is Fear that has said Its Prayers.A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday September 10, 2016 at St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery on King St. (Route 5) in Enfield, CT.
