Print
Ann M. (Ryan) Korona, 86, of Enfield, entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, August 6, 2018. She was born in Scranton, PA on New Year's Day in 1932, the loving daughter of the late Philip and Josephine (Esposito) Ryan. Ann was educated in the Scranton School System. She worked in the garment industry, as well as a sales associate at McCory Stores. In 1960, she moved to Enfield to make her home with her beloved husband, the late Joseph Korona. After her move she began to work for St. Adalberts School in the cafeteria, from which she retired after 36 years. Additionally, she also worked as a waitress for Oak Ridge Country Club. She was a devoted parishioner at St. Adalbert Church in Enfield. She was involved in the PTO at St. Adalbert School and also assisted in the fashion shows. Ann had a passion for her work and was a true caretaker to her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was an avid Yankee's fan and enjoyed taking trips home to Scranton, PA where she would be able to connect with her extended family. Ann is survived by her two children, Patricia (Korona) Woolverton and her husband, Scott of Bristol, CT, and John Korona and his partner, Patrick Blackburn of Springfield, MA; three brothers, Samuel Ryan, Philip Ryan, and James Ryan, all of Scranton, PA; a brother-in-law, Frank Korona and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Korona, both of Enfield, CT; and many nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Joseph Korona, as well as one brother, Joseph Ryan. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family from 5:00 - 8:00 pm for calling hours on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Adalbert Church, 90 Alden Ave., Enfield, CT 06082. Burial will follow at St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Enfield, CT.
