Obituary for Elaine Bemont (Lawless)

Elaine Ann (Lawless) Bemont,77, of Somersville, CT entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, July 19, 2018 in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 13, 1940 in Stafford Springs, CT, the beloved daughter of the late James E. Lawless, Sr. and Mildred (Surprenant) Lawless. She graduated from Rockville High School in 1958 and married the love of her life, LeRoy Hastings Bemont on September 5, 1959. She worked at Hamilton Standard for 20 years as an office clerk but her true joy came from being a mom to her sons. Elaine enjoyed family camping for forty years. Her family was very special to her. She also found joy from spending time with special friends and engaging in activities at the Somers Senior Center. Elaine was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, LeRoy Bemont; and one brother, James Lawless, Jr. She is survived by her six sons, Roger Bemont and his wife, Connie of Enfield, Gary Bemont and his wife, Carlene of Hendersonville, NC, Randy Bemont and his wife, Donna of Denver, NC, Ronnie Bemont and his wife, Lynn of Enfield, Steven Bemont of Stafford Springs, and Glenn Bemont of Milford, OH; eight grandchildren, Bryan, Sara, Melissa, Thomas, Jenna, Michael, Kyle, and Devin; four great grandchildren, Owen, Madelaine, Paige and Jackson; and some extended family members including, Brenda Bemont and Siyley Bemont. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main Street, Somers, CT 06071. A procession will gather at Somers Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Church, 25 School Street, Somers, CT 06072. Burial will follow at Somers Center Cemetery.
