Karen A. (Strimaitis) Fitzpatrick, 62, of Windsor Locks, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Valentine's Day in 1956, the daughter of the late Joseph J. Strimaitis, Jr and Lorraine (Carlson) Strimaitis. Karen enjoyed gardening, swimming, fishing, and spending time soaking up the sun. She loved to spend time with her family, especially having cookouts, and was a devoted mother, wife, and friend. Karen loved animals, especially Labrador Retrievers, and was a mother to her four legged companions. She was also like a second mother to many close friends of her children throughout the years. Karen is survived by her loving husband, Michael Fitzpatrick of Windsor Locks; her children, Tonya Blythe and her fiancé, Kevin Schmid, Howard Blythe, Tracy Faraday and her husband, Don, and Terry Weldon; two brothers, William H. Strimaitis and Robert Strimaitis; five beloved grandchildren, Carrie, Richard, Jocelyn, Dillon, and Hailey; nephews, Daniel, Brandon, and Nicholas; nieces, Jessica-Lyn and Rachael, along with several other nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and extended family members. Karen was predeceased by a brother, Brian Strimaitis; and a sister, Kim Little. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 5-7 pm at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT 06096. A memorial service will follow at 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
