Obituary for James "Jim" V. Carroll

James "Jim" V. Carroll
James V. Carroll, 55, passed into eternal life on Thursday April 19, 2018 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Miami, FL, Jim was raised in Troy, NY, and attended Johnson and Wales University where he received both his Bachelor degree and his MBA. Jim had lived in Broad Brook for most of his adult life before recently moving to Johnsonville, NY where he lived on a ranch with his horses, his goat “Tommi-Girl” and his faithful German Shepherd, Bruschi. Jim enjoyed life with enthusiasm and a spirit of adventure which led him to partake in many high-adrenaline activities such as riding his motorcycle cross-country, boating, jet-skiing, and skydiving and many of these adventures were shared with his cousin and best friend, Stephen Givney. Known for his shenanigans, Jim never let the truth get in the way of a good story. He was a loyal and die-hard fan of the New England Patriots, his favorite sports team. Jim also enjoyed country line dancing. His family was everything to him and he was a devoted father to his two daughters, Morgan and Shannon Carroll, and his stepson, Cody Milardo. In addition to his children, Jim is survived by his mother Linda (Givney) Carroll and sister Kelly Ann Kissell of Broad Brook, his brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Lisa Carroll of Southington, the mother of his children, Katy Carroll of Broad Brook, his nephews Jacob “Jakey Boy” Kissell and Brendan “BTC” Carroll and his niece Magalin “Maggie Darlin’” Carroll. Jim loved and lived with his whole heart and he will be deeply missed.
Jim's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, April 26 from 5-8 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 27 at St. Philip Church in East Windsor (please meet at church). Burial will be private.
