Obituary for Anthony Thomas Mazza

Anthony Thomas “Tony” Mazza, 91, of Windsor Locks beloved husband of Roseann (Cafazzo) Mazza, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital. Born on December 18, 1926, in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Joseph and Louise (Simonelli) Mazza. Tony was a veteran of Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Metropolitan District Water Company in 1987 after 35 years and was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Riverside Council # 26 and member of Riverside Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, he was also a member of the Amvets. He enjoyed traveling, camping as well as trips to the casino and bingo on Monday nights at the K of C. Anthony is survived by his three daughters: Lynn Mazza and her partner Jeff Benis of Windsor Locks, Susan Prejsner and her husband Thomas of Chicopee, MA and Denise Lawlor of Windsor Locks; a son, Steven Lawlor of Windsor Lock; six grandchildren: Jason Whelan and his wife, Dawn, Cindy Stong and her husband Tim, Eric Whelan, Robert Whelan and his wife Kyla, Piper Prejsner and Andrew Prejsner; four great grandchildren: Joshua Whelan, Chalan Whelan, Emma Strong and Luna Whelan; two sisters Mary Belvel and Jane Benedetto; two brothers John Mazza and Michael Fiore plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tony was predeceased by his brother Joseph Mazza. He will be missed by his faithful companion, Mr. Kitty. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 9 am at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Tony may be made to the American Heart Association P.O.
