Jane Catherine  Toohey (Jackson)
Jane Catherine (Jackson) Toohey, 88, of Broad Brook, CT entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 21, 1929, the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Murphy) Jackson. Jane was raised in Throggs Neck, NY and later moved to the Enfield area where she and her husband, James J. Toohey, Sr. made their home. Her biggest joy in life was her family, celebrating every holiday together and taking big family vacations. She retired after a 27 year career at Cigna where she made many great friends. She was an amazing cook and baker, an avid reader and enjoyed going to movies and the theatre with her friends. Jane is survived by seven children, James J. Toohey, Jr. and his wife, Christine of Enfield, CT, Jane Colman of Danvers, MA, Judith Botelho and her husband, Charles of Broad Brook, CT, Jeffrey Toohey and his wife, Laurie Fiore of Ellington, CT, John Toohey and his wife, Denise of Somers, CT, Joel Toohey and his wife, Katie Moirs of Bloomfield, CT, Jay Toohey and his wife, Suzanne of Enfield, CT; a brother, Robert Jackson of NY; eleven grandchildren, Jessica Moore and her husband, Jim, James Toohey and his wife, Kim, Michael Colman and his fiancée, Shanna Handley, Sean Colman and his fiancée, Stephanie Novello, Trisha Mattern and her husband, RJ, Sarah Fitzgerald, Jenna Connelly and her husband, Dylan, Erin Toohey and her fiancé, Chris Harper, Colleen Toohey, Casey Toohey, and Brian Toohey; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband, James J. Toohey, Sr.; a son-in-law, Michael Colman; and a sister-in-law, Joanne Jackson. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation hours on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT 06082. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St, Windsor Locks, CT, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery.
