Malcolm R.  Keery Sr.
Malcolm R. Keery, 72, lifelong resident of Somers and husband of Sandra (Hocking ) Keery entered into Eternal Rest in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Malcolm was born March 27, 1945, in Stafford Springs the son of the late Malcolm C. and Eleanor (Taylor) Keery. He attended Springfield Technical Community College and retired from Hamilton Standard in 2001. Malcolm proudly served on the Somers Fire Department for many years and served as the Chief from 1990 to 1991. He was also a longtime member of the Somers Congregational Church and member of the Mustang Car Club of New England. Those who knew Malcolm, knew he loved serving his community on the fire department and his Mustangs. He was an avid fan of UCONN Women's Basketball and the CT Sun. In addition to his wife, Sandra he is also survived by a son, William, S. Booker of Tolland; his daughter, Tabor Lee Napiello and her husband, Mark of East Hampton; grandchildren, Mackenzie Rose Napiello, and Sadie Teresa Keery; his sister, Nannette Halsted of Fort Bragg, CA; his foster son, Logan Scott Monro. Malcolm was predeceased by a son, M. Richard Keery, Jr. and his sister, Lela Hamilton. There are no calling hours. Funeral services for Malcolm will be celebrated on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 11 am at the Somers Congregational Church, 599 Main St., Somers. Immediately following the services Malcolm will be inurned in the Somers Congregational Church's Memorial Garden.
