William “Willie” R. Casinghino, 90, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of Marie (Aucoin) passed away peacefully, Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 at Live Well in Plantsville, CT. Son of the late Joseph D. Casinghino and Jennie (DeGiorgi), he was a lifetime resident of Windsor Locks. William proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married his wife Marie on October 10, 1953 and the two were blessed with four children. He was a carpenter by trade, and retired from Dexter Corp. after 25 years. William enjoyed gardening, hunting, and long walks. He especially enjoyed golfing during his retirement years. He is survived by his wife and four children; Chris of Longwood, FL and her husband Ron Burr, Sandy Casinghino of Bolton and her partner Cheryl Udin, Lynn of Granby and her husband Wes Clark, and Ellen of Bristol and her husband Vic Ramos; a sister Angie DiPoppo; grandchildren Lindsey and her husband Kyle Hair, Chelsea Burr, Courtney Burr, Sarah Clark her and fiancé Adam Ciullo, Rebekah and her husband Jay Schilling, Liz her and husband Dave Touger, LTJG William Thibault and his fiancée Jen Cruz, Tahlia Ramos, Aaron Ramos; great-grandchildren Ayden, Lucas and Anthony Schilling, and Naia and Brenna Hair; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Joe Casinghino and granddaughter Emily Thibault.
Calling Hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018 at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT. Family and friends may gather at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Windsor Locks Funeral Home for a procession to St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks, for 10 am. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal, with military honors, will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery.
