Obituary for Peter Giannelli

Peter Giannelli, 58, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of Valerie (Savage) Giannelli for 27 years, passed unexpectedly, Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018 at home. Born in Windsor Locks, Pete was a lifelong resident of the community. He was co-owner of Phil's automotive Service Inc. in Windsor Locks for 25 years where he and his brother Anthony, "Tony", carried on the family-owned business. Some of his hobbies included Thursday Cruise nights at the K of C, riding one of his favorite motorcyles, the Ducati or Moto Guzzi, or playing billiards with the local APA leagues. He loved the outdoors, especially camping with family and friends as well as cross-country skiing. He will be missed for his wonderful sense of humor and easy-going nature. Besides his wife Valerie, Pete is survived by two daughters, Erica and Alexa Giannelli of Windsor Locks; his mother, Mary Ann (Basile) Giannelli of Windsor Locks; his brother Anthony Giannelli and his wife Karen of Windsor Locks; two sisters, Cecilia Koropatkin and her husband Mark of Windsor Locks, and Anna Calabrese and her husband James of West Springfield, MA; a niece Anna Koropatkin and a nephew Carl Giannelli, as well as many other nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family. He was predeceased by his father Felix "Phil" Giannelli. Visitation hours will be held from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018 at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A Mass of a Catholic Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 at St. Mary Church (Please meet at church), 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks. Burial will be private and held at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory may be made to any charity of the donor's choice.
