Raymond  Parker Jr.
Raymond O. Parker, Jr. 79, of East Hartford passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. Ray was born October 29, 1938, in Butler, PA the son of the late Raymond Sr. and Margaret (Selfridge) Edinger Parker. Ray was born into a family of extremely talented musicians. He could play just about any musical instrument. Ray served as president of the CT Country Music Assoc. and was also inducted into the CCMA Hall of Fame. Ray retired from the Town of Newington, CT. Ray was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and UCONN Women's basketball and cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by two sons, Michael Parker and his wife, Lori of Enfield and James Parker and his wife, Maria of Lansdale, PA; his brothers Ronnie Parker and wife, Joyce of Columbia, CT and Harlan Edinger of CA; his sisters Diana Waldren and Margaret Bertrum, four grandchildren, Susan, Marissa, James, and Amanda; three great-grandchildren; his former wives, Jean Parker of Newington and Mary Tamara Noble of Enfield. Ray was predeceased by his brothers, Clark and John Edinger and his sisters, Dolores Edinger, Wanda Harding, and Bernice Murphy. A memorial mass celebrating Raymond’s life will be celebrated on Sunday March 4, 2018, at 8 am at St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock Ave. Windsor. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
