Aurelie "Lee" (May) MacKay, 89, of Somers, CT, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Lee was born in Hartford, CT on January 13, 1928, the daughter of the late William and Helen (Gould) May. She was a resident of Somers, CT since 1966 and a graduate of Lasell College in MA. Lee was a member of the Somers Congregational Church for many years. She was a long time friend of Bill W. and for over 30 years she helped and supported many women through their steps of recovery. Lee was also a member of the Village Players in Somers, CT where she played many leading roles. In addition to her loving husband of 67 years, Donald MacKay, Jr., she leaves behind two children, Scott MacKay and his wife, Debbie and Andrea Purcell and her husband, John; a brother, Lowell May; and two beloved grandchildren, John and Dana Purcell. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Somers Congregational Church, 599 Main St., Somers, CT. Interment will be held in Springfield Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Donations in Lee's memory may be made to the Springfield Rescue Mission, 10 Mill Street, Springfield, MA 01108.
