Michael V. "Mike"  Sanzaro
Michael V. Sanzaro, 83, of Suffield, CT loving husband of the late Frances "Fran" (Randazzo) Sanzaro entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, August 6, 2018, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born September 29, 1934, in Hartford, CT the son of the late Luigi and Sophia (Blundo) Sanzaro. He was a graduate of Buckley High School Class of 1953 and after High School enlisted with the United States Air Force. Shortly after being honorably discharged he re-enlisted with the CT Air National Guard from which he retired in 1994 after 41 years of dedicated service. Mike was a faithful parishioner and Eucharistic Minister of Sacred Heart Church in Suffield, member of the Knights Of Columbus, 3416 Indian River Council, Fort Pierce, FL, and a member of the American Legion Gensi-Viola Post # 36 of Windsor Locks and longtime member of the Mt. Carmel Society in Enfield. Mike volunteered in FL and locally whenever he was available even if it were to babysit or sit and rock an infant at the hospital. He was quite the athlete in his youth and attended the Cleveland Browns football training camp in the 1950's. Mike played softball for the Flying Yankees when he was in the Air National Guard and he previously coached midget football in Hartford and Windsor Locks and coached his daughters softball teams. Mike enjoyed reading, traveling with his late wife, cooking for his family, and cherished time spent with his family. He is survived by his two daughters, Cori Molina and her husband, Junior of Suffield and Lisa Iacolino and her partner, Anthony McGuire of Enfield; his six grandchildren, Michael Warren and his wife, Angie Maringola, Casey DeHorta and her husband, Ramiro, Albert and Victoria Iacolino, Sophia Arel and her husband, Steven and Toby Molina; his great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jasmine, Kayli, Londyn, Lowyn, and Michelle and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was also predeceased by a brother, Louis Sanzaro and two sisters, Virginia Genovese and Jessie Sbrocco. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Thursday, August 9, 2018, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home at 8:45 am on Friday, August 10, 2018, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church Mountain Rd. Suffield. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in memory of Mike may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
