Grant W.  McCray
Grant W. McCray Jr., 78, of Enfield, beloved husband of Barbara (Hudson) McCray for 52 years, passed away Wednesday Sept. 20, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford and raised in East hartford, Grant was the son of the late Grant and Marjorie (Cranick) McCray. He lived in Enfield for 51 years where he and Barbara raised their family. He was retired from Cellu Tissue after 38 years of employment with the company. Grant was a member of the Polish-American Club in Windsor Locks. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. Besides his wife Barbara, Grant leaves three children, Thomas W. McCray and his wife Gina of Suffield, Stephen R. McCray and his wife Sharon of East Windsor, Debra J. Byrne and her partner Gene Kaiser of Plymouth, MA, a sister, Joyce Covell and her husband James of NY, five grandchildren, Jordan McCray, Travis McCray, Teri McCray, Erin Vaughan, and Brian Hall. He also leaves four great grandchildren. Grant was predeceased by a son, H. William McCray. Visitation hours will be held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield followed by procession to Ellington Center Cemetery for a graveside service and burial.
