Dorothy E. "Dot"  Kilty (King)
Dorothy E. “Dot” (King) Kilty, 90, of Windsor Locks wife of Michael F. Kilty, Jr. entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Blair Manor. Dot was born April 1, 1927, in the Broad Brook section of East Windsor the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Galvin) King. She was the quintessential housewife in the 1940’s and 50’s raising six children and tending to all their activities. Dot was well respected and liked throughout the community. She was very active with Veterans Affairs groups throughout Hartford County. She served as president of the 1st District American Legion and president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Gensi Viola Post 36 of Windsor Locks for many years. She also served as the Poppy Chairman and rode in a convertible with the Poppy Queen in the W.L. Memorial Day Parade. Dot was an avid fan of BINGO and attended bingo every Monday evening at the K of C where she was affectionately referred to as the Bingo Queen. In addition to her husband, Michael to whom she was married 70 years, she is also survived by her son, Dan Kilty and his companion Charlene Luzey of Enfield; a daughter, Colleen Forsyth and her husband, Michael of Enfield; her seven grandchildren, Jennie Forsyth, Melinda, Allison, Jeff, and Steven Kilty, Kara and Lindsay Villone; a great-granddaughter, Arya; sister-in-law, Efchia King nephews, Peter, James and Steven King and several nieces and nephews. Dot was a kind and loving person and will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends. Dot was predeceased by three sons, Dennis, John, and Michael, Kilty,III and her daughter, Debra Villone; a brother, Francis King. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Friday, September 22, 2017, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home at 9 am on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery in Broad Brook. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gensi-Viola American Legion Post 36, 1 South Main St., Windsor Locks, CT 06096.
