Delphis "Del" Bousquet, 82, of Enfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He joins his life-long sweetheart and wife of 60 years, the late Shirley (Tracy) Bousquet (2016), in heaven. Born and raised in Putnam, CT, he was the son of the late Delphis and Irene Bousquet. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hornet and lived in Enfield since 1963. He was a charter parishioner of Holy Family Church. Del lived life to the fullest. He and Shirley travelled often, spent several winters in Hawaii, treasured their family time at the Misquamicut and Cape Cod beaches and never passed up an evening at the casinos. He loved being outdoors gardening and working in his yard. Del’s greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. From coaching soccer and basketball to attending concerts, recitals, plays and sporting events, he did it all and loved every minute. He enjoyed all things UCONN (football, basketball and the Storrs campus) as well as watching boxing, auto racing and the History Channel. Del is survived by three daughters, Sue Reese and her husband Glenn, Cathy Davidson and her husband Bruce, and Deb Lombard and her husband Bob, a brother, Richard Bousquet, five grandchildren, Tyler and Spencer Reese, Laurabeth and Brian Davidson, and Kathleen Heiden. Besides his wife, Del was predeceased by three sisters, Yvonne McNally, Irene Provost and Alice LeBlanc. Visitation hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. The funeral procession will form on Wednesday, September 6 at 9:00 a.m. at Leete-Stevens for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield.
