Douglas P.  Quagliaroli
Douglas P. Quagliaroli, 98, lifelong resident of Windsor Locks and loving husband of 77 years to the late Florence (Libby) Quagliaroli passed away on Friday, July 15, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital. Doug was born August 27, 1918, in Windsor Locks the son of the late James and Margaret (Taravella) Quagliaroli. Doug retired from the Fuller Brush Co after 30 plus years. He enjoyed singing, listening to music and playing cards with family and friends, tending to his vegetable garden and spending time with his family. Doug was an avid sports fan and golfer. His favorite sport team was the New York Yankees. Doug is survived by three sons, Douglas G. Quagliaroli and his wife, Linda of Ogunquit, ME, Ronald Quagliaroli of Windsor Locks and Richard Quagliaroli and his wife, Peggy of Moncks Corner, SC; eight grandchildren, Annie Quagliaroli, Kathleen Hutchison and her husband, Graham, Christa Lee Quagliaroli, Elizabeth Quagliaroli, Douglas P. Quagliaroli and his wife, Luz, Meghan DeMasi and her husband, Steve, Jake Quagliaroli and his wife, Michelle, and Sarah Barclay and her husband, Jeremy; his nine great-grandchildren, Livia Green, Fressia Farris and her husband, Nick, Talia and Luciano Quagliaroli, Matthew and Andrew DeMasi, Sam and Mia Quagliaroli and Makayla Hope Barclay and a great-great granddaughter, Aubriella Farris. Douglas is also survived by several nieces and nephews, especially, Maryann and Wally Bennett, Jimmy and Vickie Quagliaroli. Doug was predeceased by five brothers, John, James, Alfred, Arthur and Frederick; a sister, Catherine Quagliaroli and his step-mother, Catherine (Sartori) Quagliaroli. Doug’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Bickford Health Care Center for making his last year comfortable. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, July, 25, 2017, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will form at 10:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 am at St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT 06096 or to Bickford Health Care Center Activity Fund, 14 Main St., Windsor Locks, CT 06096 .
