Obituary for Dylan Keith Lomba

On June 19, 2017, Beloved Son, Brother, and Uncle, Dylan K. Lomba, 43, of Enfield ended his Earthly Journey at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. He is now safe and peaceful in his heavenly home. Dylan was born June 25, 1973, in Hartford, CT and lived most of his life in the Enfield area. He graduated from Enfield High School, attended Central CT State University and The Culinary Institute in Suffield. Cooking was one of Dylan's passions and he loved making that special dish for family and friends. He was a kind gentle man with the wonderful ability to make people laugh and make them feel at ease. His dry sense of humor and his ability to imitate all different voices will be missed by all who knew him. He was a "people" person and a wonderful listener. Dylan leaves behind his heart broken parents, George and Janet Lomba of Windsor Locks and Bonnie and John Damonte of Enfield. He also leaves his "Little Sis" Tyleen Maloney and her husband, Trevor; his nieces, Kaela "K"and Lynesey "Lulu" Maloney and his nephew Jesse "J-Man"-The lights of his life. He also leaves behind his special aunts and uncles, Rita an Joe Moskwa, John and Sheryl Camp, his "Auntie" Linda McFarlane and many beloved cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, George "Poppie" and Jean Lomba, Jane Bernier and Albert Camp, step-grandfather Rene Bernier and Uncle Pat Pagano. He also lost his feline friends Oreo and Willow. In the past few years Dylan had struggled with various medical issues and chronic pain syndrome eventually he became housebound due to his illness. He loved watching old western television shows (Rifleman, Gunsmoke, Cheyenne) They helped him to relax. His TV viewing also included every episode of Law and Order, Dual Survivor and The Food Network. Dylan always dreamt of traveling, hiking, biking, seeing new places and meeting new people. Unfortunately because of his health he never could accomplish that. Dear son, you now have your wings to fly and see and do all that you dreamed of. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Hartford Hospital Bliss II ICU, Gaylord Hospital, Milne I and Parkway Pavilion especially nurse, Debbie Baker. To all-Thank You for your compassion and thoughtfulness. There are no calling hours. Graveside services and burial will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 10 am in Hazardville Cemetery on the corner of Elm St and North St., in Enfield. Memorial contributions in Dylan's memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758516 Topeka, KS 66675. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels.
