Alex Ross, 88, passed away Saturday May 27th at his home in East Hartford, CT. Alex was born September 6, 1927 in Blanshard Twp, Canada to the late Victoria and Robert Ross. He moved to the United States in 1963 and worked in the railroad and trucking industry and was a regional terminal manager for the Northeast.

Alex had a passion for dancing, which he shared with his wife of many years, Barbara DeGroat Gemmell Ross. Alex and Barbara were experts at ballroom, square and round dancing. When Alex and Barbara began to dance together other people in attendance would just stop and watch.

Alex was an active participant at the East Hartford Senior Center and the East Hartford Cultural Center. In addition to Barbara, Alex leaves six children, six step-children and many grand and great grandchildren throughout the country.

Alex's family will receive friends at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home on Saturday June 3rd from 9 - 10 a.m. with a memorial service beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow immediately at St. Mary's Cemetery, 212 Spring St, Windsor Locks, CT.
