Obituary for Catherine D. "Katy" Cassotta (DeCaro)

Catherine D. "Katy" Cassotta, 88, wife of the late Nicholas A. Cassotta (2000), entered into eternal peace Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center. The daughter of the late Antonio and Antoinette (Amendola) DeCaro, Katy was born in West Springfield, MA and lived in Enfield since 1958. She was formerly employed by Casual Corner for several years before retiring and later opened her own ceramic studio. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church and was an avid Bingo player. She was a member of the Tanguay Magill Post #80 American Legion Auxiliary.She is survived by a son Vincent Cassotta and his wife Doreen of Enfield; two brothers, Dominic DeCaro and his wife Rita of Ludlow, MA, and Joseph DeCaro and his wife Anita of Springfield,MA; four grandchildren, A.J. Golec, Jennifer Shaw, Nicholas and Ann Marie Cassotta. Visitation hours will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday July 14, 2017 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at St. Patrick Church (Please Meet at Church) 64 Pearl St., Enfield. Committal will follow at St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery. Donations in Catherine's memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
