Peter P. Pelkey, 69, lifelong resident of Somers and husband of 25 years to Jane (Chartier) Pelkey passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 just shy of his 70th birthday. Peter was born May 22, 1947, in Springfield, MA the son of the late Paul and Catherine (Kelly) Pelkey. Peter retired from the Town of Somers where he worked in both the school system and for the town for over 30 years in charge of maintenance. Peter could fix just about anything. Peter was very proud of his 1968 El Camino which he had completely restored, it was his pride and joy. In addition to his wife he is also survived by a step-daughter, Erin Brooks of Fiskdale, MA; a sister, Barbara Ciarcia and her husband, Paul of Windsor Locks; a nephew, Michael Ciarcia and his wife, Carrie and their daughter and his buddy and companion, Jasper. There are no calling hours and funeral services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Buck-Dubiel Post #101, P.O. Box 101, Somers, CT 06071-0101 (to be applied towards Scholarships).Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Somers Funeral Home.
