Mildred Agnes "Amelia" (Gabriel) DeFrancesco, 89, of Stafford Springs loving wife of 69 years to Joseph DeFrancesco passed away at home on Saturday, June 17, 2017 after a brief illness. Amelia was born February 3, 1928, in Hartford CT the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Gabriel. Millie loved the immense beauty of this world and nature, her cats and her family. She painted, sewed and her biggest search was for self-understanding. In addition to her husband she is also survived by her two daughters, Rachael Tsokalas and her husband, James of North Carolina and Rosemary DeFrancesco of Stafford Springs; her son, Joseph DeFrancesco of Enfield; her beloved grandson, Jason Tsokalas of South Carolina; her very special friend, Mrs. Vera Marko; special neighbor, Mrs. Gail Fisher and several nieces and nephews. Mille was predeceased by several sisters, half sisters and half brothers. Funeral services and burial for Amelia will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contribution may be made to Visiting Nurses of Tolland, CT or your favorite animal shelter. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Somers Funeral Home.
