Obituary for Alfred "Sonny" L. Francia

Alfred "Sonny" L. Francia, 81, of Windsor locks, entered into eternal peace Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. A lifelong resident of the Windsor Locks community, Sonny was the son of the late Alfred and Sabina (Ferrari) Francia. He served his country honorably following the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force. He was active with his faith and was a communicant of St. Mary Church where he was a one of the original members of the St. Mary Fife and Drum Corps. He was also a member of the East Windsor Drum Corps. Sonny loved photography and enjoyed participating in Turkey shoots with his good friend Jack Hogan. He was a member of the NRA and was a member of the Suffield Sportsmen's Club. He was retired from Continental Fiber Drum in Windsor Locks, where he was employed for 25 years. He is survived by a sister, Judith Rozanski of Windsor Locks, three nephews, Lee Rozanski of Windsor Locks, Donald Rozanski of East Granby, Dennis Rozanski and his wife Lillian of Granby; a great nephew, Kevin Rozanski and his wife Cassandra of East Granby, two great nieces, Samantha Rozanski of Granby, Krista Camuse of East Granby, a great great nephew, Landen Rozanski, and two great great nieces, Charlotte Ferrin, Mariah Lemere, many special friends, and numerous cousins. Visitation hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. Family and friends may gather at 9:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, for a procession to St. Mary Church in Windsor Locks for a A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
