Obituary for Alexander J. Mailhot

Alexander J. "Alex" Mailhot, 83, of Enfield, widower of Marie ( Desjardins ) Mailhot, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at his home. Alex was born on December 13, 1934 in Indian Orchard, MA and was the son of the late Lucien and Armande ( Bouthiette) Mailhot. He retired from Sterling Machine where he was a machinist and he was also a proud veteran of the United States Army. Alex was a parishioner of Holy Family Church. In his leisure time, he also enjoyed travelling and going to the casino. Alex is predeceased by his Sister, Cecile (Bill) Hovelend and his Niece, Denise Mailhot. Alex is survived by his sister Theresa (Guy) Tetreault of Granby, Canada; his niece Judith Ann Hoveland of Miami, FL; his great Nephew, Stephane Mailhot of Granby, Canada; his great Nieces Melissa Champagne and Jean Pierre Russel both of Trois Riviers, Canada. He also leaves his great- great Nephews Danyck Toulouse, Lou Mailhot, and great- great Niece Coralie Mailhot of Granby, Canada. Many thanks to Michael (Sandy) Zukowski, Yvonne ( Michael ) Turgeon, Jeanine Rochon, Patricia Tetrault, Linda (Steven) Gregory, and Gary (Judy) Tetrault for their love and kindness shown to Alex. Alexander was also predeceased by his companion, Grace Bidwell who passed away in September of 2016. Alex thought of her family as a part of his own, and many thanks to, Brenda (David ) Crockett and family, Carla Bidwell, Sherry Desmond and family, Laurie ( Frank ) Whitehead and family, and Steve ( Rachel ) Bidwell and family. Relatives and Friends are welcomed to join the family on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapel, 61 South Rd. Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Holy Family Church at 10:00 a.m., 23 Simon Rd, Enfield. Burial with military honors will follow in Ellington Cemetery, 95 Maple St., Ellington. Donations in Alex's memory may be made to Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield, CT 06082.
