Andrew M. "Drew"  Pointek III
Andrew "Drew" M. Pointek, 41, of Enfield, passed away Friday April 7, 2017. He was born June 18, 1975 in Springfield, MA and is the beloved son of Andrew M. Pointek and Eileen (Sheehan) Pointek of Enfield. Drew was a lifetime resident of Enfield and was a graduate of Enfield High School, Class of 1993. After graduating he served his country as a member of the Connecticut Air National Guard. While in the Connecticut Air National Guard, he was a band member, played morning reveille and evening taps for his fellow soldiers, and trained to be an electrician. After an honorable discharge, he was employed as a lineman by AT&T and for the past 5 years was employed by Eversource of Western Massachusetts. True to his competitive personality, Drew participated in many Eversource Lineman Rodeos. Drew had a passion for motorcycles, golfing, home landscaping, and the outdoors including hiking, fishing and hunting. Most of all, Drew loved spending time with his son Cooper, whom he adored and was the light of his life. Besides his cherished son Cooper, Drew leaves behind his parents, Andrew and Eileen, the mother of his son Rebekah Pointek of West Hartford, his twin brother, James J Pointek and his wife Kate of Enfield, his sister, Kara Sanderson and her husband Greg, his nieces and nephews, Madeline, Wyatt, Cameron and Evan and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. His best friend, Murphy is with him now. Drew's family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday April 11, 2017 from 4- 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels 61 South Road, Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday April 12, 2017 at 10:30 am at Holy Family Church, Enfield. Drew's family wishes that donations in his memory be made to the Cooper Pointek College Fund, c/o James J. Pointek, 53 Kennedy Drive, Enfield, CT 06082.
