Raymond  Daunis
Raymond Daunis, 90, of Enfield loving husband of the late Mary (Richard) Daunis, passed away at Evergreen Healthcare on Friday, April 7, 2017. Raymond was born in Somersville to the late Paul and Jennie ( Evaniski) Daunis on January 7, 1927. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II and in his later years, retired from the Cuno Corporation as a shift manager. He was a member of the AmVets and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Raymond was an avid New York Yankees fan and in his free time enjoyed woodworking in the comfort of his own basement. Raymond was a parishioner of All Saints Church in Somersville, CT. He is survived by one daughter; Roberta Breault and her husband, Robert of Enfield; five grandchildren, Melissa and her husband, Brett Davis, Jamie and her husband, Josh Schafer, Rebecca and her husband Ben Stevenson, Steven Daunis Jr. and Kelly Daunis; six great- grandchildren; Christopher and Rachel Davis and Hailey and Madison Schafer and Elliot and Grayson Daunis. Raymond was predeceased by his son, Steven Daunis, Sr.; five sisters and a brother.
Relatives and friends may join the family on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Somers Funeral Home; 354 Main St. Somers CT. A funeral procession will form at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at All Saints Church. Interment will be at Somers Center Cemetery. Should friends desire, contributions in Raymond's Memory can be made to The American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045 and to The American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
