Obituary for Nancy Porcello (Bourgeoise)

Nancy A. (Bourgeoise) Porcello, 77 of Enfield passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Matthew J. Porcello for 57 years. Nancy was born in Enfield on July 8, 1939, the daughter of the late Marion (Kennedy) and Edward Bourgeoise. She was a lifelong resident of the Enfield community, attended local schools and was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Enfield, CT. Nancy was a graduate of Enfield High, class of 1958. She married Matthew, her 7th grade sweetheart in 1959. Prior to her retirement, she worked alongside her husband at Porcello's Inc for 38 years serving as the Vice President and Treasurer of the company. Previously, she had worked at Hamilton Standard and Pratt & Whitney. Nancy also served as a volunteer cheerleading coach of the Enfield Starrs for many years. She is survived by her husband, Matthew J. Porcello, two daughters, Kimberly Novak of Hebron and Melissa Gurry and her husband Todd, of South Windsor; four grandchildren, Ryan & Ethan Gurry and Gavin & Aiden Novak; two Sisters, Barbara Provencher of Enfield and Linda Riley of Gilbert, AZ. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Family and Friends will gather at Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels,61 South Rd., Enfield on Monday April 10, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. for a funeral procession to St. Patrick Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery. Nancy's Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 9, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels. Memorial donations in Nancy's memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children (Burn Care Unit) 51 Blossom St. Boston, MA 02114.
