Bonnie C. Swenson, 74, of Enfield, beloved wife of Carl E. Swenson Jr. for 52 years, passed away at her home, Monday November 14, 2016. The daughter of the late Alfred and Leila (Wyse) Calabretta Sr., Bonnie was born in Hartford and raised in Bloomfield graduating from Bloomfield High School, class of 1960. She was a Nurse at St. Francis Hospital for several years and left nursing to raise her family. She enjoyed gardening, painting, finding and reading antique books. She also loved going to Cape Cod and Point O'Woods in South Lyme, CT. Besides her husband Carl, she is survived by her three sons, Todd E. Swenson and his wife Lori of Simsbury, Christopher Swenson and his wife Michelle of Suffield, and Erik Swenson and his wife Kathleen of Suffield; a sister, Catherine Calabretta; two brothers, Alfred F. Calabretta Jr. and Peter Calabretta; six grandchildren, Grant, William, Hannah, Emily, Brooke, and Sarah Swenson; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Deborah Calabretta. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Melrose Cemetery in East Windsor. Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels is entrusted with arrangements.
