Marion M  Whitten (Morrell)
Marion (Morrell) Whitten, 84, longtime resident of Windsor Locks passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard L. Whitten in 2011. Marion was born April 26, 1932, Greenville, Maine the daughter of the late Hugh and Dot (Ryder) Morrell. Marion lived in Windsor Locks CT for 54 years and wintered with her daughter, Sharon and her husband, Carl in Florida for the last 5 years. Marion was a graduate of Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1954. She was employed as an RN for many years at Hartford Hospital taking care of the babies in the nursery. She retired from the University of Hartford working in the infirmary. Marion enjoyed taking care of the neighborhood children, helping others and also talking on the phone to her family and friends. She is survived by her three children, Sharon (Carl) Aber of Wimauma, FL, Mark (Joan) Whitten of Windsor Locks and Lisa (Joe) Turner of Windsor Locks. Marion is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Brian and Rachael Aber,Kristen and husband Eric Mancini,Jonathan Aber,Kyle and Agnes Whitten,Eric,Mark Jr,, Nicholas, Elisabeth,Rachel Turner and her beloved five-great grandchildren who brought her great joy and whom she adored and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Sunday, October 23, 2016, from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral service for Marion will be celebrated on Monday October 24, 2016, at 10 am at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home. Graveside services for Marion and Richard will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Spring St., Windsor Locks. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the People’s United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 91, Greenville Junction, ME 04442 or the Charles A.
