Jennie M. Roy, 89, of Windsor Locks, beloved wife of Cyril Roy for 61 years, entered into eternal peace, Friday, October, 13, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Hartford, Jennie was the daughter of the late John Sr. and Lena (Dziatlowski) Symanowicz. She was a resident of the Windsor Locks community since 1962 where she was a parishioner at St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Jennie was employed by the City of Hartford Bureau of Vital Statistics. She later retired from Kennametal in Windsor Locks. In her free time, she enjoyed bingo, gardening, and planting her favorite flowers.
She is survived by three children, Patricia Gilly and her husband Thomas of Enfield, Mark Roy and his wife Judy of Selkirk, NY , Jeanne Roy and her companion David Gerber of Spring Hill, FL; five grandchildren, Nathan, Craig, and Kyle Viniconis, and Holly and Shannon Roy; a great granddaughter, Arya Viniconis, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Symanowicz Jr, and two sisters, Lena Cappiello and Helen Mihalick.
Visitation hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017 at St. Robert Bellarmine Church (Please Meet at Church).
