Obituary for Alberta R. Welch

Alberta R. Welch, 91, of Enfield, entered into eternal peace Thursday, October 5, 2017 at St. Joseph's Residence in Enfield. Born in Colebrook, NH, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lakin and Ruth Collins. Alberta was raised in Groveton, NH and lived most of her life in Windsor Locks. She was formerly employed at Hi-G and later retired from Taylor & Fenn in Windsor. She was an avid card and Bingo player and enjoyed making crafts and needlepoint. In past years, she was very active with the Women of The Moose in East Hartford. She is survived by five children, Edward Welch and his wife Ellen of Windsor Locks, Garry Welch and his wife Linda of East Windsor, Larry Welch and his wife Judy of Windsor Locks, Donna Cabral and her husband Fritz of North Granby, CT, and Wanda Welch of Windsor Locks. She also leaves eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Alberta's family especially thanks the Little Sisters and the Staff at St. Joseph's Residence for the wonderful care they gave her through her stay. Visitation hours will be held from 6-8 p.m Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 at the St. Joseph's Residence Chapel, 1365 Enfield St., Enfield. Burial will be in Northumberland, NH in Spring, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alberta's memory may be made to the St. Joseph's Residence c/o Little Sisters of the Poor, 1365 Enfield St., Enfield, CT 06082.
