Grace H. Wood, 88, of Bloomfield, formerly of Suffield, passed away peacefully Wednesday April 19, 2017 at Seabury of Bloomfield. Grace was born May 17, 1928 in Danbury, CT and was the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Weed) Howard. She was a graduate of Hall High School in West Hartford, Class of 1946 and a graduate of Bay Path College, Class of 1948. In Oct. of 1965 she married William E. C. Wood and their marriage of 47 years ended in William's death in 2013. Grace was employed for the former C L &P and was a secretary for 43 years retiring in 1991. She was a former resident of Longmeadow, MA, and Suffield before moving to Seabury in 2013. Grace and her late husband, William were very active at the Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor where she managed the gift shop for over 15 years. The William and Grace Library at the Connecticut Trolley Museum was named in their honor last year. Grace was a member of Order of Eastern Star Good Intent #17 of Glastonbury for over 67 years. Grace is survived by her twin sister, Barbara Rogers of Bloomfield, her nieces, Elsie Rogers of Bloomfield and Grace Zapor and her husband Robert and their children, Janet and Kevin of Southbury. Funeral services for Grace will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 25, 2017 at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Burial will follow in Longmeadow, Cemetery. The Reverend Cannon Wilborne Austin will officiate services and committal. Her family will receive relatives and friends from 10:30- 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning prior to the service.
