Obituary for Harold "Dick" C. Dickinson

Harold "Dick" C.  Dickinson
Harold C. "Dick" Dickinson, 96, of Enfield CT loving husband of 57 years to the late Eleanor (Davis) Dickinson entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, May 25, 2018, at Johnson Memorial Hospital. Dick was born April 17, 1922, in Berlin, NH the son of the late Herbert and Annie (Cumber) Dickinson. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He served in Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge, and Rhineland Campaigns. Dick was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor and the Purple Heart with two oak leaf clusters. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford in 1983 after 38 years of dedication as a Foreman. Dick was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the D.A.V. Chapter # 52 of Enfield and the Tanguay - Magill American Legion Post # 80 of Enfield. Dick is survived by his daughter, Sherry A. DiSarro and her husband James of Ellington; two grandsons: Brian DiSarro and his husband, Marc of Sacramento, CA and David DiSarro and his wife, Beth of Beverly, MA; four great-grandchildren, Holden, Parker, Emery and Sawyer DiSarro and several nieces and nephews. Dick was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Alexander. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service for Harold will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at 11 am the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in the State Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown.
