Maurice "Buddy" L.  Thibodeau
Maurice "Buddy" L. Thibodeau, 94, beloved husband of Yvonne (Bellegarde) Thibodeau for 72 years, entered into eternal peace surrounded by prayer and love, Thursday, May 3, 2018 at St. Joseph's Residence in Enfield. The son of the late Telesphore and Helen (King) Thibodeau, Buddy was born and raised in Hallowell, ME, before moving to Windsor Locks where he resided for most of his life. After enlisting into the U.S. Navy in November of 1942, he served bravely and honorably during WW II. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 6123, Windsor Locks since 1971, as well as a lifetime member of Destroyer Escort Sailors Assn (DESA). Buddy was employed at Hamilton Standard retiring after 35 years. He also served as a former supernumerary police officer for the town of Windsor Locks. He was a very giving person who enjoyed helping so many people. He will be remembered for being a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Besides his wife Yvonne, he is survived by four children, Daniel Thibodeau and his wife Dawn of South Windsor, Madelyn Watson and her husband James of Bradenton, FL, Michael Thibodeau and his wife Patricia of Cancun, Mexico, John Thibodeau and his wife Heather of Windsor Locks. He also leaves five grandchildren, Shannon, Daniel Jr., Casey, Skylar, and Mason, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Thibodeau, and five sisters, Leona Reed, Melvina Collins, Anne Paradis, Celina Veilleux, and Madelyn Maheux. Visitation hours will be held from 3-5 p.m. followed by a Rosary for Buddy at 5 p.m. (all are invited), Sunday, May 6, 2018 at St. Joseph's Residence, 1365 Enfield St., Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Residence, Monday, May 7, 2018. Committal with military honors will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Windsor Locks.
