Nellie T.  Salisbury
Nellie T. (Laskowski) Salisbury, 92, of Enfield wife of the late Daniel P. Salisbury entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Heritage Hall East Homestead Unit. Nellie was born October 2, 1924, in Suffield, CT the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (Siemionko) Laskowski. Nellie a longtime resident of Enfield, was employed with Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co where she met her husband Daniel who had returned from military service as a Marine. She was also employed at Hallmark Cards and Sunshine Cards while caring for her family and parents. Nellie was a member of the Tanguay McGill Post 80 American Legion Womens Auxiliary where she prepared food and beverages for over a decade alongside her husband while he announced BINGO games. She was known for her delicious baked beans, potato salad and apple cake although she loved to dine out. Nellie had a gentle sense of humor, was a warm neighbor, and great friend to many. She had a lifelong love of dogs and her affection for her terrier’s Remy and Riley will always be remembered. Nellie is survived by three children, Sharon Lenge and her husband, Dennis of Hilton Head, SC, Patricia Salisbury of Enfield with whom she made her home, Gary Salisbury and his wife, Ginger of Enfield; her grandchildren, Jenell and Daniel Lenge of SC, Daniel and Alexander Salisbury of CT; a great-granddaughter, Ella Legg; a sister, Helen Geromiller of Enfield and several nieces and nephews. Nellie was predeceased by four sisters, Josephine Koz, Mary Mastalaz, Martha and Frances Laskowski and a brother, Frank Laskowski. Nellie’s family wishes to thank the staff at Heritage Hall East Homestead Unit for their kindness and devoted care. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Monday, June 12, 2017, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral procession will form at 10:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 am at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
