Eric R. Francis, Sr., 85, of Windsor Locks passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Bloomfield Health Care Center. Eric was born December 17, 1932, in Suffield, CT the son of the late Earl and Eugenia (Fanning) Francis. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Eric retired in 1990 after 33 years with Teamsters Local # 559 in South Windsor. He was a life member of the Smalley Brothers V.F.W. 6123 where he served as Past Quarter Master from 1992 to 2008. Eric was also a life member of the AMVETS Post 18 in Enfield, Life Member of D.A.V. Henry A. Kupchunos Chapter 47 and served as Past Commander of the Raymond B. McHugh Post 4740 V.F.W in Windsor. Eric is survived by a daughter, Linda Francis; a son, Eric R. Francis, Jr.; a granddaughter, Amanda Francis and a great-grandson, Kellin Francis. Eric was predeceased by a son, Timothy P. Francis and his sister, Elizabeth Francis. There are no calling hours. A funeral service for Eric will be celebrated on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 1:30 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks.
