Obituary for Barbara L. Norris (Dowling)
Barbara L. (Dowling) Norris, 69, of Windsor Locks entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Kimberly Hall in Windsor surrounded by her family. Barbara was born October 1, 1946, in Hartford, CT the daughter of the late William Sr. and Margaret (Butler) Dowling. Barbara was a graduate of Granby Memorial High School and received her associate’s degree in accounting from Asnuntuck Community College. She worked in the insurance industry for several years retiring after 13 years from XL Professional Insurance. Barbara enjoyed knitting and watching NASCAR, but loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her two children, John Norris and his wife, Autumn of Windsor Locks and Diane Boudreau and her husband, Kent of Enfield; her four grandchildren, Christopher, Colin, Emma and Olivia Norris; her lifelong friends “ The Girls” Joanne Butler, DeeDee Seamon and Betty Wandzy and several nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by two brothers, Gary and William Dowling, Jr. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Thursday, September 15, 2016, from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. Graveside services will be held in Granby on Friday, September 16, 2016, at 10:30. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Hwy, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
