Yukiko "Yuki" (Yamamoto) Lapointe, 82, of Enfield, loving wife of Francis Lapointe entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday September 8, 2016, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Yuki was born October 31, 1933, in Kyoto, Japan the sixth child of nine to the late Heijiro and Masu (Masuri) Yamamoto. She immigrated to the United States in 1956 and married Francis Lapointe and together celebrated 61 years of marital bliss and in1984, she proudly became a U.S. citizen. Yuki was a stay at home mom until 1978 at which point she began working in a bridal boutique, where she did alterations in retail clothing stores and later worked in a clothing distribution warehouse until her retirement in 1995. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Church and member of the Women's Guild and helped with their may affairs. Yuki was very proud to help on the church's altar committee and their fashion show in 1968. She made two presentations at Enfield High School explaining Japanese traditions to students. Yuki enjoyed camping with family, bowling and spending time in her garden, she also liked sewing, knitting and embroidery. Yuki would design and sew clothing for her daughter and her daughter's friends' dolls. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by three children, James Lapointe and his wife Kerry, of Sudbury, MA, Tina Sawyer and her husband Rick, of Green Turtle Cay, Bahamas, Kent Lapointe and his wife Sara "Meg", of Granby, CT and 8 grandchildren, Gregory, Alexander, Alannah, Angelique, Davis, John Curtis "J.C.", Kara and Sophie. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, from 10 am to 11:30 am at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service will follow the visiting hours at 11:30 am. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Residence, Attn: Sr. Joan Marie C.S.S.F., 1333 Enfield Street, Enfield, Connecticut 06082.
