Obituary for Raymond P. O'Coin Jr.

Raymond P.  O'Coin Jr.
Raymond P. O’Coin Jr., 87, of Enfield, beloved husband of the late Geraldine "Gerry" J. O'Coin (2012), entered into eternal peace Monday, July 18, 2016 at Parkway Pavilion in Enfield. The son of the late Raymond P. O'Coin Sr., and Mary (Fitzpatrick) O'Coin, Ray was born and raised in Manchester, CT and had lived in the Enfield community most of his life. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Family Church and was retired from Pratt & Whitney where he was employed for 42 years. Ray was a former coach for Enfield Little League where he was active for many years. He also enjoyed model trains and going on many wonderful cruises with Gerry. He is survived by his loving children, Lorianne Dubreuil of East Windsor, CT, Sharon Connors and her husband Peter of Vernon, Kevin O’Coin and his wife Stacey of Farmington, Maggie Bowen and her husband Scott of Enfield; six grandchildren, Michael Dubreuil and his wife Elizabeth, Jessica Palmer and her husband David, Becky and Hannah Bowen, Morgan and Tara O’Coin; four great grandchildren, Nathan, Justin, and Tyson Palmer, and Lucas Dubreuil; and several nieces and nephews; Ray was predeceased by two grandchildren, Raymond Connors, and Michelle Dubreuil; two brothers, Francis "Bud" O'Coin, and John "Jack" O'Coin; two sisters, Beatrice "Bea" Frye, and Connie Forrest. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkway Pavilion especially Linda and Judy for providing a caring and loving environment for Dad. Family and friends will gather at 9:00 a.m. Thurs. July 21, 2016 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield for a procession to Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal, with military honors, will follow at St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery. Ray’s family will receive relatives and friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday July 20, 2016 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
