Obituary for Robert William Johnson

Robert William Johnson, 82, of Enfield, beloved husband of Mary Ann (Lubert) Johnson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 15, 1934, in Chicago, IL a son of the late William and Amelia (Klemonds) Johnson. Robert was a communicant of St. Adalbert Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 50. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, photography, and collecting stamps. Robert was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing in the quabin with his son. In addition to his wife Mary Ann, he is survived by William Edward Johnson of Ballston Spa, NY, Ann Schafer and her husband Ken of Enfield, CT, Christine Johnson and her husband Bruce McPherson of West Springfield, and Margaret Reynolds and her husband David of Enfield, CT; eight grandchildren, Ryan and Craig Johnson, Brandon Schafer, Anthony, Alec, and Leah Cheney, Jacob and Nathan Reynolds; three step-grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, and Jared McPherson; one great-granddaughter Bree Johnson, and a brother James Johnson of Gainsville, FL. Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. (please meet at church). Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Fund, 864 Wethersfield Avenue, Hartford, CT 06114.
