Obituary for Isabella "Betty" LaPierre (Ruggiero)

Isabella “Betty” (Ruggiero) LaPierre, 71, lifelong resident of Windsor Locks beloved wife of 50 years to Joseph H. LaPierre, Jr., passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 10, 1944 in Hartford, CT, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Rose (Loisi) Ruggiero. Betty was employed as a certified nurse’s assistant through Bickford’s Health Care Center and the Visiting Nurses Association for many years and a Co-Owner of J. H. LaPierre Jr. &Sons Electrical Contractors in Windsor Locks. She was a faithful communicant of St. Mary Church and a member of the Windsor Locks Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed traveling throughout the country and shopping but most of all enjoyed being a Nana to her two wonderful granddaughters. In addition to her loving husband Joseph, she is survived by a son, Joseph H. LaPierre, III and his wife Gale of Windsor Locks; two granddaughters Nicolette LaPierre and her fiancé Patrick Roy and Kathryn LaPierre; several brothers and sisters-in-laws and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty was predeceased by her four siblings, Dominick Ruggiero, Vito Ruggiero, Patsy Ruggiero and Bernie Walters. A funeral procession will gather on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring Street, Windsor Locks. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A special thank you to all the staff at Touchpoints at Chestnut in Warehouse Point for the wonderful care they gave Betty.
