Cynthia R. McCready, 71, lifelong resident of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 18, 1945 in Springfield, MA, a daughter of the late John and Stella (Ustupski) Polek. Cynthia previously worked as a server, she was employed by Abdow's, Ann Fields, and Cracker Barrel. She was a communicant of St. Bernard Church for many years. Cynthia loved gardening, making jewelry, shopping, trips to the beach but most of all spending time with her grandchildren who were so dear to her heart. She is survived by three children Paul Raschi of Vernon, Joseph Raschi of Enfield, and Theresa Ekstrom and her husband Robert of Vernon; two grandchildren, Nathaniel John Ekstrom and Natalie Rose Ekstrom; a brother John Polek and his wife Francine of Somers; two sisters, Joanne Polek of Quincy, MA and Patricia Daigle and her husband Steve of Goodyear, AZ and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Mary Theresa Polek. Relatives and friends may join the family on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT. A funeral procession will gather at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Adalbert Church, 90 Alden Ave., Enfield, CT 06082.
