Obituary for Lucian S. Albano Jr.

Lucian "Lou" S. Albano, Jr., 93, (lifetime resident of Enfield) beloved husband of the late Mary (Desimone) Albano (2005), passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016, at Parkway Pavilion. He was born on May 26, 1922, in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, the son of the late Luciano and Anunciata Albano. Lou proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater on the USS Independence. He was employed as an Operating Engineer in the construction industry for over 35 years for the former Della Construction. Lucian was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, a member of the Enfield Hunters Club, John Maciolek Post #154, Operating Engineer Local 478, and the V. F. W. He was also an avid trap shooter and sportsman. Lucian is survived by two sons, Francis Gonynor of Florida and Robert Albano of Papillion, Nebraska; ten grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by three children, Lucian Albano III, Kathryn Cook, and James T. Albano; four sisters, Theresa Bonito, Josephine Caltigarone, Amelia Albano, and Carmela Carrieri. He is survived by his nieces and nephews; Phyllis (Carrieri) Rookey, Rita (Carrieri) and Richard Skizewski, Fedeli and Betty Carrieri, Nicholas Carrieri, Betty (Bonito) Brooks, Anna (Bonito) and Danny Broderick. Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Sunday, May 1, 2016, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT. A funeral procession will gather on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 64 Pearl Street, Enfield, CT.
