Obituary for Barbara R. Irish

Barbara R. Irish, 69, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 27, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. She was born on November 17, 1946 in Rye, New York, and was the daughter of the late Gerhard and Gertrude (Miner) Roth. Barbara lived most of her life in Enfield and Somers. She was a successful CPA and the owner of an accounting firm in East Hartford, CT. Barbara was a member of the Literacy Club in Enfield, Republican Town Committee in Somers, and a Red Hat Sister. She was an avid reader and loved owls and lighthouses. She enjoyed treasured memories of spending time with her family and close friends. Barbara is survived by two loving children Andrew Irish and his wife Carey of Cheshire, CT and Stephanie Kapper and her husband Martin of New Britain, CT; three cherished grandchildren, Daniel Irish, Joshua Berman, and Callista Berman; a brother Martin Roth and his wife Kathy of West Dover, VT; a sister Martha Byrnes and her husband Shawn of Enfield, CT, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may join the family on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 3:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Hazardville cemetery. Memorial donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the Enfield Community Ambulance Fund, P.O.Box 1249, Enfield, CT 06083. She will be greatly missed.
